Been around for quite a while and never tried. One side is a full bar and games. Other side is picnic table type seating Nothing fancy here. Ordered for takeout. Ribs, pulled pork, pulled chicken, collards, corn bread and sweet potato fries. All were delicious. Prices were fair and portions fine. Very friendly staff. Will return
A 3.5 rating for this place is disgraceful. Reviewed should be audited and appealed by the owner. No reason Spanx is under 4 stars! I've been coming to Spanx for about 10 years or so, way before they opened up the second part with the bar. I have never had a bad experience here. The staff is always super friendly and responsive. Has a great country feel and I love the decor. I will almost guarantee you can't find a better cheesesteak in this part of town! These things are so good I have dreams about them! The fried ribs are also top/notch and the bbq sauce can go toe to toe with the best of them. Some people are just hard to please I guess. Or maybe they just aren't ordering the right stuff! The best hand made BBQ I could find! They make all sauces on site from scratch!! The brisket is best this side of Texas!! I will say Real BBQ ain't cheap and cheap BBQ ain't real!! So hard to find anymore!! Everything is hand made! This is my go to at least twice a week!!
Me and the guys from work came here to have lunch... we all got the pulled pork sandwich..... which was amazing.... I didn't take a picture because I was so oooo hungryyy..... I got collard greens and Mac and cheese as a side and that was just as amazing as the sandwich..... the service was fast and friendly..... and it was a very nice place had a lot of games to Plat pool, bar, everything.... very good Thank you!!!
Went for a guys lunch today and it was great. Most had ribs which were excellent, crusty meaty baby backs. Smokey and I got them dry to add my own sauce so I could add as I pleased. Hot fresh cut fries and slaw as my sides. Even had a Madura brown beer from cigar city. Others in the group had a nice brisket plate or smoked turkey. Cool kitschy place with lots of Knick knacks to see. Expect a return visit soon.
